Enterprises — Kava & Rural Products
Pillar One — Bula Volita Enterprises
Strategic objective
To develop commercially sustainable village-to-market systems that create value for rural and maritime producers while supplying quality products to customers.
Beginning with kava
Our product line begins with kava because it has strong existing demand, clear cultural relevance and immediate potential for organised supply chain development. We source directly from farmers and producers in rural and maritime communities — creating reliable markets and returning income to their households. Product is transported to Suva for cleaning, drying, grading, packaging and quality control, then supplied to retail customers, kava bars, and commercial and institutional buyers, with a direct online trading channel and, over time, export markets serving the Fijian and Pacific diaspora.
- Bulk kava (graded)
- Packaged kava (retail)
- Premium / export kava (future)
- Coconut and other rural products (future diversification)
Our value proposition
- Consistent supply — reliable quantities year-round through strong supplier relationships, planned production cycles and effective logistics.
- Quality assurance — uniform standards through careful selection, proper processing, and hygiene and safety compliance — positioning for premium and export markets.
- Direct sourcing & fair pricing — purchasing directly from rural producers rather than through intermediaries, reducing cost while ensuring fair returns to farmers.
- Ethical, community-based sourcing — transparent engagement, fair prices, and practices that respect people and the environment.
The consistency gap we close
Fiji’s kava sector generates exports exceeding FJD 53 million a year and an estimated FJD 190 million in domestic value, supporting more than 14,500 rural farming households. Yet production is fragmented among dispersed smallholders, creating inconsistent supply and uneven quality. By organising sourcing, strengthening supply chains and implementing quality assurance, Bula Volita transforms fragmented production into a reliable, market-ready system — stable demand and fair pricing for farmers, predictable supply for buyers, and export readiness for the market.
The Natauloa Pilot (Nairai Islands)
Our first supply chain is anchored by a staged pilot in Natauloa Village, Nairai. The pilot establishes a functional rural-to-market kava supply chain, builds village-level aggregation, tests maritime transport logistics, integrates livelihood development with commercial sourcing, and generates real operational data. It begins deliberately conservative — up to 50 kg/month for the first six months — scaling to 100, 200 and 500 kg/month only as sales evidence, supplier capacity, transport reliability and repayment discipline are demonstrated. Success creates a replicable village-cluster template for expansion across rural and maritime Fiji.
